With the release
of the Nintendo Family Computer, came the revolution in the consumer
computer gaming industry. This ultimately became the groundwork
for the development of computer games in the years to come.
The company
has then released a variety of games.
At first,
the development environment of these games were not done in Micronet's
own language.
In
1988, the company developed its own compiler, linker and library
along with its own language for making video games and computer
graphics environment i.e.,
Light pen system versions 1.00, 2.00 & 3.00, EKAKI & GABAN.
With the growing
demand to develop games on other
platforms, Micronet Co., Ltd. went into both system development
and game development.
The company
became one of the pioneering game developers and has produced several
titles for GENESIS, SEGA CD, GAME GEAR,
SUPER NINTENDO and PC-ENGINE.
Up until now,
they are still producing for platforms like Sony Playstation and
Dreamcast using the game systems developed internally.
In its task
of developing games for various platforms, Micronet Co. Ltd.
opted to create a 3D software tailored to their needs called 3D
Atelier.
Realizing the
possibilities beyond the gaming industry, Micronet
Co. Ltd. along with it's subsidiary in the Philippines, Micronet
Software Manila, Inc., (MSM)'s talented team, developed
and improved 3D Atelier,
with the aim to make 3D art and animation more accessible to users.
At present,
the company is one of the major player in the Japanese gaming industry
and the author of 3D
Atelier, a complete 3D modeler and animation software
now sold in Japan and soon in the Philippines.
